This looked so much better in person...the lighting is really weird in the pictures. The base is made of candied orange peel held together by pulled sugar with a sugar cage glued on top by more sugar. Inside are caramel hazelnut truffles covered in colored white chocolate. Pulled sugar curl on the side.
Sadly, right after these pictures were taken, part of the sugar cage broke. I guess things like this are meant to be enjoyed and then destroyed!
