A Sample Dinner

Yesterday we went to Sam's Club for dinner.  Meaning, we went into Sam's Club around dinner time and I ate every sample in sight.  No shame.  It's was delicious.

Name that Tune

Friday's at the office are great.  Some are greater than others.  Some are hilarious.  Some are just slow and boring.  Today was a mixture.

I went into the committee meeting today where all the counselors make decisions on appeals (like for track changes).  Let me tell you, committee meeting has got to be the funniest thing ever.  Unless you've been in a committee meeting, you wouldn't believe the stuff that is said.  Not about students or anything related to what we're supposed to be talking about...just random stuff.  I could write a non-fiction book and everyone would think it was fiction.  It's that funny.

Well today there were only two appeals and I guess no one wanted to go back to work so we stayed and played "name-that-tune."  I.completely.fail.  Reason #1) They were picking songs from the 80s and 90s.  Reason #2) Even if they picked recent songs, I never listen to music and wouldn't know those either.  Case and point: They played Party Rock Anthem.  Didn't recognize it until quite a ways into the song.

HOWEVER, I did get ONE song (title AND artist) right off the bat before everyone else.  Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.  You wouldn't believe the looks I got for knowing that song and that song only.  Thank you high school football game band music.

Engagement Shoot

Wedding planning continues!

As mentioned earlier, there's only two things, wedding-wise, that I've really been slightly stressing about.  engagement pictures/ announcements and housing.  Well, I can cross half of one off the list!  Last weekend we went to Logan, UT to have pictures taken.

We.are.awkward.

Seriously.  Neither of us are huge picture people and don't have them taken very often so we don't know what to do.  We kept asking things like "sooooo where are we supposed to put our hands?", "where should we look?", "does my hair look okay?!" (okay so that last one was just me).

It almost was a no-go too.  It POURED almost the entire way down to Logan.  Thankfully, we found an hour and a half window where we were able to shoot some.  We were both impulsive and bought new outfits once we were down there.  I don't even remember the last time I bought an entire new outfit in one shopping trip.  Like shirt, cardigan, pants and shoes.  It may never have happened before.

You know what else has never happened?  Me wearing skinny jeans.  I tried a pair on during a band camp shopping trip my senior year of high school and refused to put any on since then.  I hated them and how I looked.  Well, my dashing and ever-fashionable fiance convinced me to try on a pair last week at a store.  I did not buy them.  But they weren't as bad as I thought they would be.  When we went to the mall in Logan we found the same pair again and I tried them on again with the top I just purchased.  With quite a bit of convincing from Nate and Alexis......I bought them.  WHAT THE?!?!  Who am I turning into!?

Not only did I buy a pair of skinny jeans but I WORE them for our pictures.  Isn't it some sort of rule to not do anything too crazy before getting pictures taken?  Like don't cut your hair really different or dye your hair...or wear something you've refused to wear for the last five years because you thought you looked ugly in them.  It's got to be a rule.  And I totally broke it.  And we didn't even change outfits because we were too lazy to.  We brought a change of clothes.  We are that lazy.

Now I'm just going crazy trying to be patient to see some of the pictures!!!!!  I didn't see ANY of them and I am freaking out.  I just have to have some faith that at least five pictures turned out.  That's all I want.  Five good pictures.  That will double the amount of pictures we currently have together.

Well, we look good from far away at least.....

Everyone's Graduating...But Me

AHHH!!!  It's graduation season for every college....except BYU-Idaho.  Now, I'm not complaining about the track system because it's a great thing.  I'm just jealous of all my high school classmates graduating right now.  And I'm only two weeks into my last semester.  But I WILL graduate.  It'll just be in another 2.5 months...

Wedding Planning?

I totally fail at trying to plan a wedding.  Like, epic fail.  I kind of forget that I'm supposed to be doing stuff for it.  I have a feeling I'll make it to graduation and THEN I'll realize I'm supposed to be getting married in two weeks....oh well.  At least I won't be stressed all semester...right?

I have done some planning.

I bought a dress!  That's the most important thing.  Well, more importantly I called the temple and scheduled the wedding so that I can actually get married.  But second in importance is that I found a dress.  I did not have one of those "ah-ha" moments where I started crying when I tried on the second dress and just knew it was mine.  I probably tried on a total of 20 dresses before I found mine.  But I love it and it's perfect!  Now I just have to play the waiting game since it had to be ordered and won't be in until mid-July.  Yikes.  Hopefully it fits well!  As much as I'd love to give all five blog followers a sneak peak of the dress you will just have to wait until August 10 to see :)

What else have I done?  Picked colors.  Kind of.  I still don't love them but Nathaniel does and I don't hate it so they'll work haha  It's all about compromise.  I figure if we can compromise on wedding colors, we can compromise on anything.

Honeymoon is booked.

Annnddddd that's about it.  Next on my list is to get engagements taken and find housing for the fall.

My goal is to not be a bridezilla.  I think I'm doing okay.  But I almost might be the opposite.  Some things I just don't care a ton about and take forever to make decisions on.  Like colors.  And the dress.  And everything else I have to make a decision about.  This is going to be a fun semester :)

But really, it actually is kind of fun!

And here are some of the epic fails with dresses...
Little roses on the back???

My face says it all

The Beginning of the End

Here's the beginning of the semester life update.  As usual, I fail at updating this thing so it will come in a boring list form.

-- Moved back into my apartment.  I have three of the same roommates and one new one.
-- I'm back to only one job...Admissions.
-- I'm back in classes.  Five classes, fourteen credits.  Nothing too crazy...yet.
-- I'm still RS President.  You'd think I'd be good at it since it's my fourth semester BUT I don't think you ever get good at this calling.
-- I'm planning a long distance wedding.  Actually, most of the time I forget I'm supposed to be planning anything.  It's kind of a problem.
-- My FIANCE lives a mere five minutes from me.  It's fantastic.

Welp.  That's all.

Are They Really Family??

I think I may have promised not to put this on facebook.  But this is my blog soooooooo I'm not breaking any promises.  Even if they're weird...they're my weirdies.
