Dumpster Diving

My apartment complex is right behind a Little Caesars Pizza.  The weather was lovely tonight so I decided to do some reading on the stairs outside.  Around 11:00 I see a worker come out of the store and throw two boxes in the dumpster.  Immediately I think "Leftover pizza!  I've heard of people who raid restaurant dumpsters and get free food!"  Thinking I'm a genius (although I don't even like their pizza) I walk right on over to the dumpster and proceed to open one of the boxes.  I get a peek inside and realize that there's only a few slices in it when the back door to the store opens again.  I quickly jerk my hand out of the dumpster and awkwardly walk around, pretending like I wasn't just trying to get a free pizza.  I see the worker get on his bike and take off with a pizza box in his arms (and, I assume, a pizza).  There was still one more box in the dumpster so I went back and had a look at that one and it too contained only slices.  Feeling dejected, I walked back over to the stairs and hoped no one had just witnessed this slightly embarrassing episode.

Obviously this is not the actual dumpster as it was completely dark outside at the time of my adventure.
The story gets better.  Around 11:30 I'm talking on the phone with Whitney when I see two guys and a girl on their bikes riding through our parking lot.  They pedal right to the dumpster and start looking in the exact same boxes I had earlier!  Now, if the story stops there it's funny.  But it doesn't stop there.  They took one of the boxes with them.  They took a half eaten pizza out of the dumpster and rode away!!  Ew.  Although I can't really judge because there's not that big of a difference between taking a full pizza and a half pizza out of the dumpster....  And that's hilarious.
